Vietnam-based documentary planned for Laguna venue

The event venue [seven-degrees] will hold the first Orange County screening of the award-winning documentary “Return to Dak To” on Oct. 29, according to a news release.

Former Laguna Beach resident Christopher Upham wrote and produced the 50-minute film about five Army veterans who return to Vietnam 40 years after the fall of Saigon.

Return to Dak To is less a political statement than it is a personal account of the 61-day Dak To siege and how it shaped the lives of those who survived the battle, the release says. The documentary has been featured at the San Diego Film Festival, the Black Maria Film Festival, and the Sedona Film Festival.
