Sewer line work set to begin

Share

Work begins this week to replace aging sewer lines east of downtown Laguna Beach.

Crews placed fences around the Lumberyard parking lot for the first phase of the Loma Terrace sewer project, expected to last until next spring, according to a news release.

The project area stretches south up the Third Street hill — new concrete will be poured there — and turns east, ending at the intersection of Park Avenue and Bent Street.

For construction on Third Street and Forest Avenue, there may be brief periods when lanes are closed and motorists, except residents, are diverted to adjacent streets.

Work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Signs will be posted so residents are made aware of the activity and notices will also be distributed.

The city will have weekly updates on its website at lagunabeachcity.net and has created a phone number at (949) 464-6686 to provide callers with updates and allow them to leave questions and comments.
