Pet owners contact Community Animal Network on a daily basis for help when they have to give up their pets — seeking a rescue rather than take a chance on the uncertainty of their pet in a municipal shelter.

Dakota’s master says he is a friendly dog, but, he doesn’t have the means to care for him any longer.

Maria Hansen found a little Chihuahua that is missing his lower jaw and has no teeth, but cannot keep him. He was malnourished, but can eat on his own.

Tatum has a 10 month old German Shepherd/English bulldog mix that they can no longer keep. The dog is rough and tramples and nips at their 3-year-old.

Every rescue call pleads for help hesitating to place their beloved pets in a shelter. What can you do to help? Support both local animal shelters and rescue groups by adopting adult animals. The public seeks the tiny ones leaving rescues full and adult animals in shelters at risk.

To have local rescue groups work more efficiently in order to help the pet-loving community, volunteer, foster or adopt. And please keep your donations to local animal rescues because the national pet charities that seek your dollars don’t work here.
