Eagle Rock Way getting crosswalk upgrades

Share

A Caltrans-hired contractor will begin work this week on a refurbished lighted crosswalk warning system at the intersection of Coast Highway and Eagle Rock Way in South Laguna, according to a news release.

Upgrades will include added overhead beacons and signs to comply with updated roadway standards. Construction on the state-owned highway is expected to last through November.

Three intersections along Coast Highway do not have warning lights — at Calliope, Brooks and Anita streets — but that could change.

Caltrans has funding and is working on design plans for the Calliope intersection, and agency officials said they will seek funding for the remaining two crosswalks, the release said.
