The city of Laguna Beach will give seniors home-improvement tips at a public workshop Oct. 17, according to a news release.

Laguna Beach’s Senior Housing Task Force, a city-appointed group, organized the seminar set to run from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Laguna Beach Community and Susi Q Center.

“This program is specifically designed to explain temporary or permanent improvements to adapting housing for residents as they face the challenges of later years,” Councilman Robert Zur Schmiede said in the release. Zur Schmiede is the council liaison to the task force.

“The council wants our seniors to remain in our community and to help eliminate housing challenges as much as possible,” he said.

The workshop features a panel of four experts in residential design, including architect Morris Skenderian and city Building Official Dennis Bogle.

There will be time for audience questions and opportunities to discuss individual concerns. Light refreshments will be served.
