Three Laguna Beach teams picked up impressive wins on the final weekend of the National Junior Basketball regular season.
The three teams will compete over the next two weekends in the NJB Championship Series.
Girls' Division 1
Laguna Beach closed out its regular season with a 32-20 win over El Toro at San Juan Capistrano. Every Breaker scored in the game as the team improved to 8-2 overall. The Breakers are Nicole Davidson, Kirsten Landsiedel, Madison Sinclair, Rachel Kenney, Taylor Glenn, Sophia Lucas and Isabel Mansour.
Girls' Divisions 2
Laguna Beach started strong against the Rancho Santa Margarita Celtics and cruised to a 44-8 victory. Cambria Hall let the scoring with 16 points as the Breakers improved to 10-1.
The team is: Avalon Brice, Molly Cohn, Maddy Graboske, Cambria Hall, Ella Jarrard, Evie Laptin, Izzy Meekma, Piper Naess, Emmalisa Randrup and Quinn Winter.
Boys' Division 3
Laguna Beach Team 2 ended the regular season 10-1 after scoring a big, 44-35 win over the Laguna Hills Bulls to secure the No. 1 seed for the Championship Series.
Down to five players after halftime, and holding an eight-point lead, Breakers Will Compton, Keegan Even, Alex Neufeld, Gavin Trevino and Henry Miller, fended off the Bulls the rest of the way. Compton led the team at point guard and Even and Trevino hit key baskets.
Jack Payne, Griffin Kristensen and Nolan Naess played in the first half and helped the Breakers build their eight-point advantage.
